I have a cheap HP printer.  I use it mostly for printing out shipping labels and other odds & ends.  It's reliable and does a good enough job for my needs.

I have an old laser printer, an inkjet three-in-one.  I've been wanting a new color printer and have just ordered the Epson EcoTank, which uses small tanks for the ink, rather than the cartridges.  I'm anxious to receive it.  I'm tired of dealing with the cartridge systems, which require expensive repacement cartridges. Hope this works out as good as the reviews seem to indicate.

We saw the commercial the other day and it appealed to us.  I'll love to read how you find this works for you.

@qualitygal  I'm anxious to get it.  I've read a good bit about it and it seems to get quite favorable reviews.

My cheap HP 1000 inkjet printer still works fine after 16 years.  Purchased at Walmart for $30.  Not wireless of course, and the ink refills cost more than the printer, but one black ink cartridge lasts me about 18-24 months since I only print receipts and I use the economy gray scale for printing.  I never load a colored ink cartridge.  Didn't think it would continue to work when I switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10, but the Best Buy tech had no problem setting it up.

Don't know about laptops, but my HP desktop ($400) is working well, faster than any Dell desktop I've had in the past, but it's only a year old.  My Dell desktops each ran for about 8 years.

If I get a new computer, I always discard the printer.  They sell junk as a bundle to your computer.  My husband and I share one good quality printer.

No, I don't own a printer.  Don't really have a need for one.  Once in a blue moon, if I have to print something,  I just go to the library down the road lol.

I have had excellent experiences with Brother printers. They last a long time. My latest one is a Brother MFC-J885DW, and I've had it over a year, I think, maybe longer. It can print, copy, scan, fax, etc., and is wireless. Very simple to operate. The cartridges are expensive, but I love the convenience of having a reliable printer and a scanner.

Edited to add: The Brother printers I've bought have been inexpensive, too.

Yes, we have always owned HP - they are work horses. The latest one is a laser jet printer and it prints so fast.

HP, a cheap one, like $29. I hardly ever print anything.

I am the same as @gardenman .  I finally got fed up with ink and bought a Brother Laser printer. Love it.  No mess.  Prints 2800 pages on one drum.  No more finicky inkjet for me.  LM
