Yes.  I'm from Michigan and my Dad always bought us girls a box of candy and a Sweetest Day card.  My Dad was the greatest.

I've never heard of it either, but I purchased some rocky road ice cream today, so I'll just do that.

NO it was made up by confectioners. The days was originally to treat orphans and others who were under privileged

I heard it mentioned on a game show about 10 years ago.  At first, I thought they had said "Sweedish Day."

The hubby and I observe Sweetest Day by giving each other cards. Some years we make it a date night. This year we are staying in by choice. Sometimes I want flowers other times I want a gift Smiley Happy

We used to when my late husband was alive.  He made all special days special.
