Re: Do you look forward to certain things each season?

Living in New England , I love to see the change of seasons.

Spring is my favorite, with my birthday in May. I was born

  on Mother's Day.

I love to see everything turning green and the flowers blooming again. I like the longer hours of sunlight.

Many of our songbirds return and I like hearing them in the morning. I like shedding the heavy winter coats and shoes.

Summer I loved more as a child, for going to the beach and

summer vacations in Maine. Now, I enjoy my porch when it is not too hot and humid, to sit out and read or just watch the birds, squirrels and other wildlife.

I enjoy all my perennials and the flowers that my husband plants each year. The Bleeding Hearts are blooming , the lilacs have buds and the Lilies of The Valley are about to bud. I love all the summer fruits, melons and corn. This is when my feet are very happy, living in Birkenstocks. I like the sun setting later.

In the summer, I like to take day trips on the coast or the country side and going to flea markets.

Fall is when I like to bake and make soups again. I love to see the changes in the foliage, as we live in a wooded area.

I like wearing all my Irish knit sweaters in the fall and going to

buy fall flowers and a pumpkin. My five children and I have always loved Halloween. We even had a Halloween wedding for our oldest daughter.

Winter, I think  I liked more as a child. Playing in the snow, sledding, ice skating, looking forward to Christmas and

maybe some snowdays off from school.

Now, I would rather stay inside in winter; baking, cooking, reading. I still enjoy the shopping and preparing for Christmas.

But I don't like it getting dark so early and the bare trees.

I do look forward to the first snow, it is so pretty here.

For about 10 years, I was doing different themed Tea Parties

on Valentine's Day for my daughters, grand daughters and a close friend. I have'nt done them in about 8 years. After Valentine's Day, I really don't want to see any more snow, and

I start looking forward to spring.

I do put up front and back door wreaths for each season.

Same...I have to have four seasons; I would be very unhappy where it was hot and sunny all the time-I'm sure that sounds odd to some.😂

Take time every day to enjoy where you are without a need to fix it

SPRING = Horrible Allergy Season - But love seeing everything bloom again

SUMMER = Too hot & humid

FALL = Perfect!

WINTER = Love the cooler temps, but not the dark and grey, but at least NO snow and ice in our area (for the most part)

Re: Do you look forward to certain things each season?

We get all 4 seasons in KY.

When I was teaching I always looked forward to summer for a break. Don't like the super hot & humid days though. I always looked forward to returning to school in the late Summer. I get bored easily with nothing to do. It was always exciting to get my classroom ready for a new year. Loved seeing my old students & colleagues & meeting new students too.

Love the cool fall days and colorful leaves of Autumn. Look forward to wearing jeans, turtleneck, boots, and a jacket.

Love the Christmas season with Christmas music, but I hate the cold, snow, and ice.

Springtime means a beach trip to look forward to, but my allergies drive me crazy.
