Those kind of secrets should NEVER be kept secret. The damage the adults go through hearing about it is nothing compared to the children who have endured it.

There are secrets about myself I will take to the grave , I know my husband does not share things with me so I don't feel dishonest about it. If someone tells me something in confidence I would not betray them.

I feel it's unjust to make accusations against anyone who is no longer alive to deny, defend themselves, face their accuser.

@LilacTree  I do keep secrets very well, and I also think I would not tell my SO every little bit about me.
