Does anyone just dial a number and start talking when someone answers? I can't imagine not identifying myself. It's common sense. Caller ID has nothing to do with it. Kiss

I was taught to say, "Good morning, this is Sharlee Last Name from Boss's Office at Big Aerospace Company. May I please speak to First Name Last Name in the Whatever department?" Most people don't say anything like this nowadays.

I guess we all have different experiences, but I find that most people do say things exactly like that. I work in a creative field, and even in casual settings, I've always heard everyone identify themselves by name and the company (or in my case network) that they're calling from. I've never had a job where that wasn't the case. Kiss
