Re: Do you have any New Year's Eve and/or New Year's Day Traditions?

Over the years I've been to a few parties but avoid the overpriced pre fix (sp?) dinners in restaurants.

For us, the best way to close out one year and start another is to stay home, drink champagne ... and smooch.

When my children were small we had ice cream sundaes. All the fixings. We had chocolate syrup, caramel, whipped cream and nuts in waffle bowls. My girls have their own families now with their own celebrations. My husband and I still have our sundaes.

My "tradition" is to stay home on New Year's Eve ... and try to stay awake until midnight.

New Year's Day is a holy day ..... so Mass and then off to lunch with a friend.

@ALRATIBA , I love this.  We will be watching our sermon tomorrow.  Have a wonderful time.

Thanks for the reminder about the Rose Bowl.  Another NYD tradition is watching the Tournament of Roses Parade!  That is my favorite parade!  Good luck @Group 5 minus 1 to your team!  Go U of M!  UGA plays in the Orange Bowl today!  Go Dawgs!

@Pandalady , are you watching our DAWGS.  They are whopping some butt, lol.  It's half-time and it's 42 to 3.  GO DAWGS.

They just stated that GEORGIA has broken the record for the highest score at half-time.  GO DAWGS.  They won national champs last two years and should have been in the championships this year....oh well.

Re: Do you have any New Year's Eve and/or New Year's Day Traditions?

I put away my Christmas decorations today and got out my winter decor.  I also cooked my black eyed peas and collard greens today and will only need to warm them up tomorrow and also cook some fried pork chops.  YUM.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024 tomorrow all:  Blessings, Happiness, Health and Faith.  Be Kind to one another.
