Re: Do you have a HOARDING problem?

[ Edited ]

I don't have a lot of *stuff*.  Not even clothes or shoes.  But I do have things I love that I've bought doubles and even triples of that still have the tags on them.

Both my homes are quite small, but my kitchen cabinets aren't filled up, some shelves only hold a bowl or a pitcher.  But, I still have plenty of dishes and serveware to feed an army.

Maybe some would say I have a ton of houseplants.  I do.  And I'm always looking to buy just one more.  Can't help myself.

Looking through my pantry, I did realize this weekend that I have to use up 80 servings of rice by April 21.Woman LOL

Good luck with the rice.

You've got 3 day left.

I have all I can do to afford the basics most of the time, hoarding isn't in my budget.

Exact opposite!  My husband is the one who wants to hold onto things.  I have tossed so much of his stuff in the 30 years we've been together and he hasn't missed one single thing! He doesn't even know that stuff is gone.

Re: Do you have a HOARDING problem?

@mac116   @SeaMaiden    Another one with too much stuff, but have been on a no buy on comestics, Lock n lock and anything kitchen.  I keep a decent stocked pantry, but make sure items are rotated constantly.  No more home decor purchases either.  Thank god I don’t have an attic or basement, so it is some control at least.  Two full closets of clothes, so need another purge in there.

Still too too much of living here 30 years.  I’m proud of myself that I passed on the last three BBW semi annual sales.  The body wash and hand soap is almost in a controlled amount.

Re: Do you have a HOARDING problem?

I have a lot of jar candles.  When the seasonals go on sale I usually buy a bunch.  So yes, I have a hoard, but I have appropriate storage and burn them every day.  I enjoy picking out a new one from the "stash".

When there is an every day item on sale at the local grocery store, I buy in multiples.  I'll make it a point to buy those items each time I'm there (mouthwash, hand soap, soup, beans - stuff like that).  I'm usually glad to have them on hand.

It would concern me more if I did this without the means to do so, but that's not the case.  I totally enjoy having a well-stocked pantry and medicine chest.

I try to exercise diligence and get rid of things I am not using, or do not need, or do not "spark joy".  My clutter is at a dull roar (as my Dad would say).

You can mix mouthwash with dish soap and use it on rose bushes and hibiscus for white flies and other insects. Put in sprayer with water and give them a light spray. Dont do in heat of day.

@Sweetbay magnolia, our supermarket gets me every time with their buy five and save.

You have candles; I have perfume oils.
