Yes, our town has one on Saturday mornings May through October. I didn't remember until it was too late today. Our town is small, it's held in the town common and it's nice. There's some of everything. Fruit/veggies, baked goods, crafts. There's music. I enjoy it.

Gotta run to Hobby Lobby, then I'll be back to watch the Royals win another game this afternoon. (hoping - sorry, Tigers fans) Enjoy reading your comments about this topic. Five years ago I was lost in traffic and turned on a side street, stumbling onto a delightful, large, Farmer's Market in Maui. I seriously could have stayed there all day. When I walked away I thought... If I ever visit again, I hope I can find it. It was around Kaanapali (sp?)

That sounds like ours. I went 2 summers ago and found the prices to be very high and I bought quite a bit of fruit and vegetables from stand and threw away most of it. It had no taste at all. Later, it occurred to me that most of the fruit couldn't have been grown here as the season was wrong. So, he probably bulk bought it and re sold it which I don't think should be allowed.
I haven't been back.

We have two - one on Wednesday and one on Saturday. I’ve been to the Saturday and it’s fun to walk around even if you don’t buy anything.

Many towns around me have farmer's markets and I really enjoy going to them. It is one of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday morning.

We have several around here, some on the weekends others during the week. Most are open from October thru May and close for the summer.

@jeanlake wrote:@Snowpuppy The thought of roadside stands being banned isn't a pleasant thought. I've met the kindest people, of all ages, during these encounters.
I have to agree that if you're shopping the small rural stands or I head down to Eastern Market in Detroit it's a great experience.
No ginormous plastic shopping carts, no one in a cookie cutter vest welcoming you. You are meeting people who farm and produce the food. They freely give tips on how to store and prepare. They're proud of their products.
Banning roadside stands in a rural farming community just riles me. It's removing freedom of choice. Big Box store or nothing.

We have two - one on Wednesdays at the marina and another on Friday afternoons at a local beach on the lake. The next city over from has a wonderful one on Saturdays. Right now not much is growing up here - too early for most of our local vegetables and fruits.

We have several within a 15 minute drive from our house. Our favorite’s a smaller one in South Arlington with about a dozen vendors. In addition to fresh fruits and veggies, they’ve got baked goods, dairy, meats, homemade pickles & kimchi, and fresh salsas. It’s my favorite place to get fresh corn, tomatoes and peaches. Then we stroll around to see what else looks good and munch on samples. They’re only open from Spring through early Fall.
