I have never been a gym goer.  I clean house, used to do yard work, keep busy.  It worked for my parents and their generation--all lived into old ages late 80's to over 100.

Yes. I have been a gym member for 30 years. I go EVERYDAY for 2 hours - 1 hour of cardio and one hour of weights.

I've been going since my 30's.  I have to get up and go first thing in the morning or I'll never make it.  My gynecologist told me after I started menopause that I would lose muscle with menopause.  Nothing you can do about it.  I took that as a challenge, and I still up the weight on occasion.

I don't go to socialize.  I'm friendly with a few people, but that's it.  I'll sometimes skip it to do yard work which takes precedence for me.  And I also supplement it with an hour of skating on Saturdays.

The one thing I discovered after the Covid shutdown was that the one thing that goes downhill faster than anything is flexibility.  It takes no time at all to start losing that.  Everythng else was as if I never took the break.

I do a warmup, weights, crunches, pushups, a few stretches and balance work, run/walk a mile, and some final stretches.  That all takes at least 1 1/2 hours, so there's just not time to stand around and socialize.

My daughter did meet her husband at the gym in 2017/2018.  I mean now days where can you meet someone organically?  They both still go to that gym, she is very serious about her workouts also.

No, but I walk outside and keep busy with projects the require muscle work.

I go to the gym first thing every weekday morning.  I lift weights and do machines, then swim laps.  I've been doing it for 40 years and I have made many good friends over the years.  Sadly, many of the women no longer participate.  I can't imagine giving it up.  It's good for me physically, but also mentally/emotionally.

Nope, we walk. It's free and very beneficial. My dh and I walk 7 miles/day. When the weather is bad, I have an elipitical and a treadmill that I use.

For anyone that's interested and you are a senior citizen for some gyms you

may be able to join for as little as $25 a year. A family member of mine is in

his 60's and is paying very little with his benefits and just got a yearly membership.
