I guess if I were younger, or if I lived in a small apartment I might consider going.

However, I spent some time today sweeping all my sidewalks and my front porch steps, pulling up some weeds, carrying up my trash cans and my neighbors' after collection day,  chasing after my dogs in the yard and my cats in the house (up and down three flights), and now I am getting ready to go to an event where dancing is on the agenda.

I think gyms are very social places for people these days, not just for exercise. I do not really like to do mindless exercise--I feel like I have to accomplish or achieve something.

Occasionally I will sign up to take different dance lessons for a few months to a few years, and when younger I participated in a very competitive sport with private lessons twice a week.

DH skis every weekend once it becomes cold, and he rides a racing bike in the Summer, so he will never go to a gym, either.

We both think keeping physically fit is very important! Most people think we are decades younger than our ages...

Keep up the good work, and achieve your goals!

Not really a gym @Melbalee . But I go most every day to Jazzercise and absolutely love it. Been doing it since 1989. There's nothing like it. If you like dancing it's the best because it's FUN and you get a great workout.

went to SNAP  FITNESS sor over 12 years, 3 times a week. Till about a little over@year year ago when I started mobility issues . I have to exercise at home, as I can't get on machines or stand up long to do gym workouts.  I tell you, the gym was the best thing ever.  I was over 74, and you could bounce nickels off my legs, not anymore.  But I do what I can now...but it doesn't seem like enough.

I go more in the colder months. I like to walk and be outside when it is nice! I enjoy a variety of activities. I like to try new things!

I never got into the gym thing because I used to work 45 to 50 hours a week and the driving back and forth was just wasted time I could put to much better use.

I always had the feeling that many people go to the gym to socialize, more than anything else.

I have an Aeropilates machine in my home, and that works for me just fine.   No waiting for machines.  Woman Happy

I can even work out in my pajamas very early or very late, and I like the freedom to do what I want, when I want.
