When I was younger ,I was a lot braver than I am now. Maybe getting old has made me fear things ,that I wouldn't have thought much about ,when I was younger

Cops: Woman Opened Fire At "Panther" Flick
Gunfire followed dispute over assigned seats
FEBRUARY 26--A North Carolina woman is jailed on multiple felony charges after she allegedly opened fire in a movie theater during a dispute over assigned seats at a screening of “Black Panther,” according to police and court records.
Investigators allege that Shameka Latrice Lynch, 30, squabbled with other moviegoers around 11:45 PM Friday at a crowded AMC theater in Greenville.
During the dispute over seating arrangements for the Marvel superhero movie, Lynch allegedly pulled out a .32 caliber pistol and discharged the weapon inside the theater.
Lynch, fired one round into the theater’s ceiling, police allege.
While the shooting resulted in no injuries, Lynch has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill (prosecutors have identified the victims as two men attending the “Black Panther” showing). Lynch is also facing a third felony count for discharging a weapon in an enclosure to incite fear.
The shooting prompted police to evacuate the entire 12-screen multiplex.
Lynch surrendered to police Saturday evening and was booked into the Pitt County Detention Center, where she is being held on $250,000 bond. Lynch is next due in court on March 14.

They have that type of seating at my theater too. I don't like it much. I would just rather find a seat and sit down..I never thought things would get so heated over s stupid movie seat

@cherry I am like you... as a child growing up in the 1960's...70's we went to movies ALL THE TIME. The only fear might be to sit in gum....I saw Romeo and Juliet with my best girlfriend at least 12 times! We never even thought about a random shooter in a theater. Time are different. ....I change with the times....and what a I do and Where I go has changed as well.
Other people who had the Philosophy of I will not live in fear....were at the Las Vegas incident and running and hiding to save their lives....and killed as well. To each his own, but, I value my life and wellness and will not put myself out there if there is a risk of danger or could be. Why would I?

@cherryif it causes you stress to go to a movie theater then it is not worth it to your nervous system. You certainly don't have to prove anything to a poster here. Do what makes you comfortable. I know after reading your posts that you take great care to ensure your health and that your husband's is excellent. As we get older we get less prone to risk taking. Your call, as it should be, if you feel it is too risky to go whether it's fear about a shooter or about bedbugs.

I have no interest in going to the movies and having to endure the drek that Hollyweird shovels out. We have plenty of DVDs, then there are SO MANY CHANNELS to watch nowadays, I can always find something interesting.....in the comfort of my own home....

.I don't think this movie is drek, It looks like they didn't spare any expense on the filming. It just looks like a block buster type film ,and I hear people really enjoy it

I'm the exact opposite @cherry, the older I've become I feel the bravest. I travel by myself quite often and if it's needed use public transportation when the cost of parking is too expensive. so movie theatres or any other public place doesn't have me ill at ease.
