Do you ever use the other hand for doing things?

I am right handed but I do try and use my left hand. I heard that it was good for the brain. Since I was hit on the right side of my head it seems that my left side is weaker in the brain.....hard to explain so I try and use my left hand sometimes and should be doing it more.
