Hi, Mama Mia, Yes, I agree--I have some put away now to give later or to display in a home if I ever move into a larger one. But the vintage dolls I bought helped me to cope with my parents' loss and were a small amount of money well invested.

The Marie doll I have is tiny, tiny (5 or 6 inches) in jeans and a white top, long black hair, peace medallion--a little hippie doll. Very, very cute. I sold a number of my dolls on Ebay a while back, but that one I did not want to part with yet. She makes very pretty dolls, Marie does.

No, I find them creepy.

My mother had a large collection of dolls all over her house, and she kept some of them in the guestroom where we stayed when we were visiting. I used to put them in the closet while we were there.

I'm not a doll person either. I also tend to find them rather creepy, but I don't begrudge others them.

Although, when I visited my father a few years ago his wife had quite a collection. Wouldn't ya know it that many of them were populating the bedroom that I was given. It was a pretty small room and they really took over. I couldn't even use the mirror above the dresser. His wife was so awful to me that she actually took over the doll creepiness factor, so they didn't bother me nearly as much as I would have predicted.

I loved dolls as a little girl, but don't collect them as an adult.

I have a collection of hand made teddy bears that are in my home décor as well. They are from various teddy bear artists. Did you ever attend one of the online teddy bear artist shows? I used to attend a lot of the shows that the artists put together, but do enjoy looking at them online. Of course, it's not the same because you can't pick them up and feel them, but with the few I've purchased, I've been quite satisfied with them.

no, I think I have read too many horror stories about dolls. I can see why people enjoy them, some are rather exquisite.

My sister-in-law has a room devoted to her collection. It is beyond creepy.

I loved dolls as a child and kept many of them. I gave the ones from my childhood to my daughter when she was small and she enjoyed them too. However, now I just admire them but don't collect them. I used to love to go to F.A.O Schwartz with my daughter when she was small and we would look at all the beautiful dolls with their wardrobe cases and extra clothing. If I was ever to have a grand daughter I would love buying them for her if she liked dolls.....

I got .sucked in buying when HSN came on. They are all over the house. Nothing expensive. When I die maybe my son could give them away to unprivledged children.
