Growing up, I had a couple that I played with some but was far more into my Barbies.  I have no interest in them as collectibles as an adult.

Doll collecting must not be as popular as it once was.  When I first started watching QVC they had lots of shows selling dolls.

I did buy some as gifts for the doll collector in my family.

No, I don't personally collect dolls.

However I do have cloth 'dolls' or figures of animals because I like them and they decorate my kitchen and office.  Soft sculpture.

I have have had many puppets of various wild life as I used them to instruct and show children about them when I would read to them at the library/museum.

Re: Do you collect dolls?

Not me. Never played with them.  But my younger sister collect antique porcelain dolls (from the 1700's,- 1800 s and turn of 20th century) etc)  She no longer buys them.  I guess there isn't a market for them?  She put them away.

I used to collect Marie Osmond dolls including the Tiny Tots.  They are still displayed in a few curio cabinets.  Sure wish I knew someone who would want the majority of them, I'm only interested in keeping just a few.

I collect porceliain doll figurines.  I still have about 20 of them.  No longer in collector mode but I love the ones I have.

When I was young, my mother made a long shelf for my wall out of curtain cornice and used pink and white stripe contact paper on it.  I had a collection of about 8 inch dolls on it dressed as bride, Christmas, valentine, St patrick, etc..  Don't know why but when I got married I left them at home and can't remember what happened to them through the years, but would love to see them again.

@Krimpette I find dolls to be creepy, particularly the collectible ones.  Something about the eyes.  The older the creepier.

I don't really know how else to explain it, but I know I'm not the only one.
