Yes. However just cursing someone, wishing them dead is not an effective curse; nothing will happen.  

It has nothing to do with superstition.

I have never known anyone that has been cursed or heard anyone give out a curse however if someone has been cursed by another person - which is awful I think - then their mind could dwell on this and cause all kinds if mental disturbances.  Not a good thought but what kind of person curses another?

I am also of the mindset that folks try to make an event fit what they want to believe, whether it be curses, UFOs, ghosts, etc. and tend to be unwilling to consider other more logical possibilities.

I think they have seperate jewelry for that...with "stink" lines extending away from the eye.
