Do hosts and product reps need to say they also have one for their beach/shore house?

I do not begrudge anyone being successful. In fact, I am a champion of capitalism and everyone being able to better themselves through their hard work  And I do not believe the world owes us anything.    Just, sometimes I wonder what I did in my life that I do not have another place.

Each time the hosts or product reps mention they have one set for home and another for the beach/shore house I can't help but think "oh, really?"

Not sure that is the best way to sell your product.

BTW, started teaching in 1974 and still going, raised 2 kids on my own.

Sorry-just bugs me when they say this stuff.

Okay, there I vented.  My comment sounds very negative.  I apologize.

You just have to shake it off if it bothers you.  Just a selling tactic. We're not all in the same place so I would not feel resentful of those that have more.

It doesn't bother me when people work hard and have a beach home or a summer home.

While it TOTALLY doesn't speak to me at all, I think it actually is one of their most successful selling tools for so many.

I tend to find it rather disingenuous, especially with the one host who always seems to have quite a few of everything she sells.   But I pretty much don't even notice it anymore.

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people out there who fancy these hosts/vendors their friends, and whatever they say goes.  So if they say how great something is AND that they have one (several - whatever), they jump on it.

I can't relate to having a "beach/shore house"... ( or a second home)

Why not? For every person that may not own one, there's a person that DOES.

It's like being offended that someone gets to eat all they want while you have to count every calorie; that's life. Oh well.

I caught that and I think that was stupid on her part to devulge that kind of info to an audience who may or may not look kindly on her sales tactic..  Say 50% of the people watching today have second homes or don't mind one way or the other that she does. That leaves the rest of us who work very hard too and for some reason are not fortunate to have a second home and resent her for mentioning that she does. I for one wouldn't buy anything she's selling now that I know she's successful enough IMO. That just goes to show you how skewed things are when a teacher who prepares our youth for the future doesn't make enough money to swing a second home and you have people in sales making big bucks.

Bravo👏...I feel people that are mindful that others may not be as fortunate, don't do that.  They could also just say "I picked up a couple of sets"... I always think that people with 'class' don't need to push the look what I've got thing.

@kjae Don't apologize for posting how you feel about something.  I like it when people do that.  I think you stated how you feel very well.

I will say it doesn't bother me at all when they do that.  I don't think they're bragging, I think they're trying to fill up TV time.

I could never do what they do.  I'd be repeating myself over and over trying to find the right words that will come out of my mouth before they do!

Can you imagine how difficult it is to talk about a lawn chair (I own several and have given some as gifts) when others before you have talked and talked about it.

What the ?? is there to say about it?  It's a lawn chair.  Maybe she does have a bunch of them.  My daughter keeps breaking her's so I keep sending her more.  If I was on there I'd say, "Please keep your little kids off of the XXX thing because it will break".

Anyway, I appreciate your post and I hope you keep posting how you feel.  We need more postings where people disagree.

The world is not made of only people who agree.  If we only allow that we are doomed and will never learn anything.  Our heads will be the size of a balloon because we'll think we are always right.
