I was watching a couple of different shows and saw some items being marketed that were directly tied to the employees of the company (ie. jewelry, books, candy, cleaning products). Some even have behind the scenes stake in the products. Do you think this is or would be a conflict of interest? Please don't take this post to another level...just thinking out loud..Thank you in Advance.

@GAQShopr53 Can you give an example?

It could be...could you provide some specifics?

Someone selling jewelry or cleaning products that work for the company.

Probably not. Without a better understanding, marketing products is marketing products no matter who might have a stake in the business.

Updated post to include a few examples...don't want to be specific with names as it would violate community standards.

In general, no.

@GAQShopr53 Are you referring to David Venable's cookbook? If so, I'm sure QVC is making a lot of profit on his book and just promoting their employee and company at the same time.
If people are interested in the host and what he has to say, then they might be tempted to purchase the book.
It could appear to be a conflict of interest, however, QVC is just monopolizing on his popularity and both are profiting from the sales just like I'm sure all the vendors do as well as hosts, based on sales goals and amount that they can sell while on air.

do you mean infomercials or shark tank or what?
Shopping Channels are a good start but could include those selling items on infomercials and shark tank.
