I don’t mind being asked, nor do I mind saying no if I don’t know the charity. We focus our giving on local needs, from food banks to no-kill animal shelters.

Everyone has their hand out for money....I just say NOT TODAY.  I CHOOSE WHAT CHARITIES  I donate too. I check them out first. 

@SeaMaiden But when you start looking at what they are advertising about how much they donate, millions and millions, they are donating it.  It's not the $1 donation at the point of sales,it is millions from their profits.

 it is a tax deduction for the companies, so No I do not think it affects the prices of goods.  When shopping with Amazon Smile our local Historical Society gets a donation when we shop. They have been receiving a lot of donations from us! hahaha.
