I do but only from necessity. My hairdresser prefers cash or check because of the CC processing fee. Our trash service is locally owned, and you can pay by CC but only by phone, and then you are accessed the processing fee. So I pay that bill by check. Our yard guy only accepts checks. Our church is not a modern church, so yes...checks there. My dental office gives a cash discount on procedures over $2500 if paid in full before the procedure, so yup...another check there. The company who stains our fence gives a discount if paid by check, and so on and so on...

I write 2 or 3 checks a year. Generally when I'm gifting money and the recipient does not do Venmo. I haven't written checks for years. I pay bills through secure portals which is many times safer than paper checks. I certainly would never pay any workman with a check. It's likely that in 2025 I won't write a single check. The checkbook will gather dust in the secret place I keep it.

Very few checks, only if I have to.

Not much at all--maybe 2 or 3 a year----and mostly to give my kids cash for b-days--they can deposit it via their phones to their banks

I write about 3 checks per year at most.
I never have automatic payments deducted from my checking or credit card. I want full control of my accouts, not a business.
There's much corruption online, I wish computers were abolished. As it is now we're all vulernable. I've been hacked 3 times from doctor's apps and a grocery store. Will computer's/online activity ever be safe?
I lived before any online activity. Much safer and less time consuming, imo.
Could write a book about this, but I'll stop now.

I write 1 or maybe 2 a year. And even those aren't necessary.
I give traditional check payments 3-5 more years at most. Just my personal analysis.
And then the last check to ever be written in the history of check writing will have been written.
Death to the paper check!
Long live on-line payments for all!

Sooo, for those that said they write very few or no checks, do you use Venmo or other mobile payment service? I still have several routine payments to make, lawn guy, septic maintenance, gifts, taxes! Just wondering! Thanks!!
