@SoCal Bred- Not only do I remember the Helm's bakery truck, I remember the Helm's bakery building on Venice Blvd. that was there for many years. The last time I went by there, years ago it was some kind of a furniture store. Sure brings back memories!

@VanSleepy 😂😂😂 I have never never seen a tall banana bread, but would LOVE to see your banana bread tower! I am certain it is quite the conversation starter.👍😊
Edited previous post because I wrote it hastily, and did not did not realize I forgot to finish my thought!😂

I remember a ton of these and I'm 35. I still love Hawaiian red fruit punch on a hot day and I miss the yellow Wendy's packaging- it was so eye catching. I own a 70's avocado green Waring Futura 14 speed blender with wood paneling. I remember my sisters and I would cook jiffy pop on the stove and then our parents got us a Presto air popcorn popper with the yellow lid and now I make popcorn using my Westbend stir crazy popcorn popper. I have a vintage Rival croc pot with a glass lid. I used to love Flintstone push up ice cream pops when I was a kid. So many great nostalgic food memories with this photo. ![]()

My mother and daughter (especially my daughter) are into garage sales, estate sales, vintage, used...I am not. I like new, latest versions IN THE BOX items lol But I actually DO like seeing what they find and sometimes the stories behind an item my daughter might find at an estate sale. But, I still prefer new. I think that's the reason I have enjoyed this thread so much. That and remembering things I normally wouldn't be able to remember till I saw it. The oldest thing I have in this house is my husband lol

@monicakm New things are great too- I love new things, especially new makeup and clothes
. I love retro kitchen appliances, retro cookbooks, 80's aerobics VHS tapes, Charlie's Angels haircuts (I rock Farrah's haircut)
ooh and I love one of a kind antique and estate jewelry. Your comment about your husband made me laugh out loud and smile ![]()
!! So great! I bet you and your husband look lovely together and have a lot of fun!

My granddaughter's hair is cut in a way that she could rock a Farrah hairdo. I have sent her photos. I don't know if she has worn it like that or not but she is curling it. We've been married 44 years and our love deepens with time. Naturally it's a different love than it was 44 years ago. You'll like this one...Like I said, I like new things and am not a collector of old/used things. The day of my wedding, while I was getting ready, I thought to myself, how am I going to keep the same thing (man) forEVER? That's a long time to keep the same thing without throwing it out and getting a new one?
Good thing a marriage doesn't work like that
I love him very much. My brother tried to talk him out of going thru with it on our wedding day. Frank and he were best friends before we started dating (g) I don't know that there is another man on the planet that could understand me like he does.

@monicakm I think your granddaughter can definitely rock The Farrah hairdo- its a timeless style and looks great in motion
. Happy 44 years to you and your husband ![]()
!! That is so funny and cute that on your wedding day you thought, "how am I going to keep the same man forever?"
and look at you too now with grandkids and your pet dogs and a great home. Your brother probably warmed up to the marriage once he saw how much your husband loves and cares about you
.
I bet your husband enjoys your love for glamour, beauty and makeup- does he ask about the new products that you research and enjoy? I've found that the men I've dated like my makeup, hair and style, but their eyes look so confused when I tell them about the process of getting ready and the makeup and beauty products that I like to use each day
.

I remember all of them -- makes me officially old, I guess. The green glass brought back a special memory. My bff, now deceased, gave me this glass for my birthday, to be used as my unique "bathroom glass." At the time we both thought it was very elegant and that it worked perfectly with my bathroom color scheme. Today I wonder ... what were we thinking?! (I now use a sleek simple white ceramic glass as "my bathroom glass.") I also remember that neither of us was making much money back then, and we both regarded this glass as a pretty pricey and high end special gift at that time when we were just entering the working world. When I look back, I have to think that both my taste and my income are much improved over the years.
