Re: Do You Live to Eat Or Eat To Live

Back in my younger days, when I was skinny, I ate to live.  Not so much anymore.

Re: Do You Live to Eat Or Eat To Live

I tend to eat to live. Sometimes stopping to eat is an annoying distraction when I'd rather be doing something else. But I enjoy certain foods as well, like my daily coffee and chocolate, and certain occasional meals and desserts.

I sort of separate food into two distinct categories: pleasant, palatable everyday fueling food vs super yummy treats. If an everyday fueling food tastes great, that's a nice extra.

I would feel a lot of pressure if I tried to ensure everything I ate was extremely delicious. It would have to take up a big portion of my planning. And I think that would make it hard to keep the calories down.

Do I live to eat or eat to live?

Live to eat. I love to cook!

Being home during these long months of social distancing, I have cooked and baked so many wonderful new recipes.

Please don't ask if any of my clothes fit.  I bet you know the answer already. Smiley Wink

90% of the time, I eat to live. My intent is to fuel my body with what it needs to operate efficiently and at optimum health.

10% of the time, I live to eat.

Definitely, Eat To Live.  Never had much of an appetite from when I was a young child.  Never was a binge eater or went back for seconds.  I get filled up pretty quick.

I have finally reached a point where I eat to live.  Hard to believe that I would ever be able to say that.

Re: Do You Live to Eat Or Eat To Live

Unfortunately I am of the live to eat group.

I have always been envious of those who forget to eat

or just move things around on their plates while a few

bites make it into their mouth.  I don't mean the

anorexic types, I mean the people who are just naturally

not that interested in food.

My mother was more of the eat to live type, and my dad

was the live to eat type.

My mother said she grew up with wonderful food but everyone

just ate breakfast, lunch and dinner and went about their

business....She was slim and I always wanted to look like her!

Instead, I look exactly like my dad.  Haha...now that I'm older,

I'm fine with that.

I live to eat. I enjoy food and like to cook. Now if I could just get active to offset some of those meals!
