Our stunningly beautiful Chesapeake Bay in Maryland...pictured with the notorious Bay Bridge.
I've never enjoyed traveling over that bridge. The water feels too close.

My route to work always took me past a spot where I could see clear to the Capitol when I looked to my right. I had a clear view of the Washington Monument from my office window while at work. Before they moved us to our headquarters building I could walk to National Mall at lunch. I think we take seeing these buildings and monuments for granted sometimes.

We have lots of landmarks in NYC ....
I can see the Empire State Building from my bedroom.
Many parks, historic buildings, churches, memorials, statues (e.g. Statue of Liberty), bridges ....
I googled - pages and pages of landmarks.

South Central PA ... our 15th President's birthplace:
James Buchanan's parents' log cabin stood here.deep within the woods at the foot of a mountain.
Nothing spectacular...but this is our only local historical landmark (10 minutes from my home).

I live in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. We're entering into my favorite season where fall foliage is spectacular. Unfortunately, however, we are in the midst of an awful drought. Some of my family came to visit this past weekend so we drove up Cayuga Lake to Taughannock Falls (see photo link below). For the first time in all the decades that I've lived here there was no water coming down the falls. It was scary to see.

The Lincoln Memorial is a favorite of mine. But the view from the Jefferson Memorial is great as well. There are few things as beautiful as the Tidal Basin when the cherrry blossoms are in bloom. But yes you can find cherry blossoms throughout the city.
