It seems like it would be pretty easy to verify accuracy. All they have to do is tally vehicle registrations, no?

Don't know. There are a lot of Honda's around but there are also many other vehicles as well. We live with the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Asian influence is considerable as well as the immigrants from across the sea. Maybe that is why Honda is mentioned. However, as I see things, we have lots of other brand names/logos. Ferrari, Maserati, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Lotus, Porsche, Coopers, Range Rovers, Saabs, Volvos. I just can't go along with just one auto being representative of So. CA.

In the majority of our states, more people drive trucks than cars. Really?

Yes, this seems to be how it was determined. I found the article on yahoo, and this is an excerpt:
"We asked IHS Automotive to share their count of the most popular vehicles of 2014 broken down by state. IHS Automotive's tracking differs from what automakers report in two important ways; it counts what new vehicles are registered in each state, rather than just national totals as sold by dealers, and it can separate vehicles registered by businesses from those registered to individuals. This list excludes those vehicles sold to large fleet buyers, like rental-car agencies and governments — leaving only those sold and used by individual retail customers."

I find it hard to believe a CR-V is the most popular car in NY, but what do I know.

I'm surprised Toyota dominates the SE. We drive by the plant on 77 in Blue Springs, Mississippi on the way to Memphis.

It isn't? They went by registrations for each state.

although I've seen many Ford trucks. the popular cars seem to be Toyotas. My husband and I both drive Toyotas.

Honda sounds correct. We have 2. And a VW. And a Jeep.
