Yes, because I know the mods will no doubt delete the post, but sometimes I just can't resist.

I do this often, sometimes after writing a few paragraphs.
Sometimes I delete because it's not worth the trouble and other times because I monitored myself and stopped before I wrote something not too nice. It's a good way to blow off steam without actually hurting myself or others. Oh, it gets so difficult to control oneself.

All the time.
Probably start and abandon at least 6 replies for every one I post, nowadays.
No longer interested in starting new threads either. And for over a year I've pretty much avoided the one forum that inspired me to register here in the first place.

@x Hedge, I'm sorry to hear that. I've always enjoyed your posts.

I often have second thoughts about a post and just cancel it. I keep in mind political or religious implications or responses that my post might elicit. Being one of the first on these boards, I've learned over the years that it pays to be prudent.

@Nancy Drew, no matter our POVs, we probably all think that those with whom we disagree are not "the most tolerant crowd of diverse thinking."

I sometimes wonder if the subject has been presented before.
01-08-2020 08:22 PM
Yup. Sometimes it is not worth it

I sometimes do, but it is usually because someone has posted what I was in the process of writing, so I just cancel.

@suzyQ3 "Diverse Thinking" is subjective. I view that phrase in terms of political/religious/social themes and those are not allowed here, although sometimes a bit sneaks in.
I don't mind somebody if somebody does not agree with me as long as the dialogue remains on topic. I would not say that we probably all view others as intolerant. It's perception and how much our pov matters. (Hint: it really doesn't. lol)
Yes, I've started to post something and have changed my mind.
I've also gone back and removed posts, too, if I thought it would be miscontrued as a snark or picking at a poster.
I believe most do their best.
I try, I fail, I apologize, I move on.
