Re: Do You Ever Buy A Lottery Ticket?

Every once in awhile I do but not often.

My cousin bought a $20 scratch ticket and won a million dollars.

Re: Do You Ever Buy A Lottery Ticket?

We probably don't buy an average of one ticket a year, and have gone many years and bought none.

I don't gamble in any other way. No real moral or value based reason for it, it just isn't something that interests me. It isn't where I choose to put my discretionary income.

Re: Do You Ever Buy A Lottery Ticket?

DH plays a couple daily Florida Lottery games for $1 each. He calls it his voluntary school tax. Once won $7000. When he went to get it at the office, Uncle Sam took $1500 from it. In Canada, Lottery winnings are not taxed.

I enjoy playing penny and nickel slots when we go to a casino.

I used to buy Power Ball tickets 2 a week, 1 for each drawing but I have not since Covid because I have only been inside a store like 3 times and don't think about it til I am back home again.

I will buy a $1.00 scratcher ticket here and there, and buy a ticket for the Mega Millions every once in a while.

I know that I have a snowball's chance in hell of actually winning, but it's fun to play, and hey, somebody has to win, right?

Actually, apart from the few games that are structured to award all the prizes, nobody has to win. That's why the jackpots roll over and get so big. The more people playing, the more likely it is that someone will hit all the numbers, but it doesn't have to happen.
