a bad storm on the west coast is high winds and rain.  maybe...a storm on the east can be snow,ice, sleet , freezing rain.  any number of lovely things.

 

i'll take a west coast storm over east coast any time even though they do have their mudslides on occasion and can get pretty nasty.

 

i still will take rain over anything else any day, thank you very much!!

The good thing about rain is it pretty much goes away by itself .... you don't have to shovel it.
