Re: Do We REALLY Need Football On Thanksgiving?

@AliJoi5, just had to mention that I adore your quote!  That sounds so much like something I could find myself saying, lol!

Cannot imagine anyone complaining about this. Geesh. For years have enjoyed a good meal, sat back and relaxed and watched football. Can't think of a better way to spend a day. Wow!!!

I like watching football with my family and trash talking on Thanksgiving. It'a fun tradition.

I am optimistic....love Cam....love Tom....a great game!  I really don't see anyone stopping Cam....Tom has some challenges with injuries but maybe Edelman will be back?  But they are a great team and always adjust....Hope to see them both in!

Ugh I cringed when I saw Edelman's foot get rolled... but he plays so hard that it was bound to happen!  Yes, they're saying he could be back in time for the playoffs.  Person With Folded Hands

Yes!  Yes we do!

I'm a Bengals fan- have been since a little girl. Of course back then I picked them because their mascot was an animal, lol. But I have been with them for decades now, through thick and thin.

As a Lion's fan I was thrilled to watch the game yesterday!!!  Also as a Lion's fan I have to say that I also enjoyed the Packer game yesterday!!!

If football isn't your thing, you really don't have to watch. Years ago it was much harder to avoid since there were so few channels but now it's not a problem.

Although we're Pats fanatics (New Englander here), I'm always happy to see the Lions win, especially on Thanksgiving!

I was super happy to see the Lions come back and win too. My dad is a huge Lions fan and he is here visiting so he was happy. I think the Lions might be on a winning streak!

I can take it or leave it. However, I have many friends and family members, that are very, very thankful for football on Thanksgiving. :-)

Thanksgiving is no longer a special day to give thanks for the bounty and beauty of America. Rather it is a day to buy oversized TVs, and watch a bunch of overblown athletes knock each other down. It's sad and makes me angry.

It dtoesn't make me angry, but it's just a game, and yet people get so darn emotionally invested in it .... a game!

Years ago I was stuck at a private home and the guys wanted to watch the game.     What a joke!     I later read that one fan was so upset that "his team" lost, that he committed suicide!     Such morons.
