Never

Yes. But I'm glad that I can be moved to tears. Tears are the most human response we can show.

@Jordan2 wrote:Yes, news stories do affect me. There is a story about the jam company Bonne Mamam that has gone viral. During the war a small town in Paris hid and saved Jewish families to their own peril. If you helped a Jew, freemason, communist, socialist, or pervert you would be shot on sight. In reading this to my sister I got very emotional, she bought the jam the next day. If you haven't read the story you should, I didn't do it justice.
I recently read something about this also. I've been buying this jam for many years not knowing this story. Happy to know I was supporting this company and will continue to do so. I bake raspberry crumb bars and use this jam as the filling.

Gosh @Mindy D ,
I wish you hadn't written about that.
I know sometimes we need to share the things that we are sad about with family or friends we personally see, but sharing it here especially when most probably have not heard about it, why? It's not like anyone can make it less sad for you.
I only read one sentence but now it will take awhile to get it out of my head. I just wish I never had seen it. There are so many images I have to try to forget. I respect the things you normally post so I'm surprised you did share that.
I don't know how those who said never or no don't feel sadness for others. Can that be true? When you see parents crying over the loss of a child or any sad thing, you don't feel any sorrow at all?

Wow, @on the bay I wholeheartedly agree with you. Upon first reading your post I thought how bad could a story be but then I went back and read Mindy's post and wish I hadn't! Very disturbing and horrific.

I guess I try to keep my head in the sand some. If I start to hear about a child or older person or someone who is somehow weaker than others being abused, I just sometimes can't take it. I agree with one of the posters before me about the story that was posted here. I started reading and just got away from it asap. I can't get some things out of my head and it just makes me sick and angry. I am an animal lover and everyone who has ever met me knows that. For some reason, that makes some want to share every horrible animal abuse story they have ever heard of with me. Why is that? I want to run and scream when someone corners me. I guess I will never understand people.

I cannot list how many times I have cried while watching a news program. The flood gates open up every time I see a story featuring horrific child abuse, elder abuse and animal abuse! My heart literally aches, and I am sometimes forced to change the channel.😔
I also cry tears of joy when I see stories of triumph over extreme adversity, generosity of the human spirit, etc...😊
Sometimes I am told that I care too deeply, and perhaps that is true, but I would rather care TOO much than NOT enough.😁

Not surprised some people aren't bothered by sad stories.
Came as no surprise to me.

Fully feeling things is a gift. Not everyone has it. But it's really beautiful.
