Well WHO said it's the "easy way out." I thanked God when my mom divorced our nasty, mean, physically abusive drunk of a so-called "father". We went through years of hell.

She saved us kids by doing that and it was not easy for her. Do you know how judgmental you sound? Do you?

@Love my grandkids

I was very young when my sperm donor took off. I remember only 1 time wondering why myself and my 3 older sisters were standing outside our Public Housing Projects Apartment. My mom was calling the police.

Other than that? My mother worked every day of her life to teach us right from wrong, and make sure we all knew what being independent meant in life. I told her divorce story in another post.

Two sayings come to mind ..... Woman Wink

Nothing in single life is as bad as a bad marriage.

One of the most important skills in life is knowing when to leave the party.

It can be admirable to tough it out in a bad situation, your partner may see it as an opportunity to do as they please because there are no consequences. None.

While you may be dedicated and self sacrificing, your partner may see you as a doormat with 0 incentive to change.
