Disregard e-mails about trial deposits for Amazon Credit Builder secured card

I got very worried when I got 3 e-mails from Synchrony Bank this morning: 2 of them advising me of trial deposits to my account, a 3rd one asking me to confirm funding. I called them immediately at (855) 597-4893 to let them know that I didn't apply for this card. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes, I was advised by the CSR that I spoke to that the e-mails were sent out due to a system glitch, they'll be sending out an e-mail to explain what happened.

Thanks for the warning!

@KingstonsMom, you're welcome! Their phone lines, as you might imagine, are extremely busy, causing long hold times.

Thanks for the “heads up” on this @sgraham30.

This kind of “stuff” bothers me a lot.

@Spacrazy, me too, which is why I was on the phone immediately, after googling what the heck Amazon Credit Builder was. The bank phone number was on that page, I was on the phone with them immediately, sat on hold for about 20 minutes.

Re: Disregard e-mails about trial deposits for Amazon Credit Builder secured card

Thanks for posting this.  I received the email and am now on hold for a representative.   I can now hang up.

I did have a strange thing happen to my amazon account.   Someone tried to hack into my account a couple of months ago.   I received an email that was verifying that I changed my email address.   I called them immediately and they were able to fix my account.

After that happened I went through all my accounts changing my passwords.   I wish that people did this kind of thing would get a real job instead of trying to hack into someone elses.

@sgraham30

Thanks for checking...now we don't have to.

It was in my box, but I figured it was a scam of some sort.

Again, thanks for posting!

Re: Disregard e-mails about trial deposits for Amazon Credit Builder secured card

@sgraham30   I received the same 3 Emails, and reacted very much like you.

Before I could explain why I was calling, the Synchrony CSR told me what those Emails said, to which I replied, "Obviously, I'm not the only one.  I hope your whole day doesn't go like this."  He laughed and answered, "Well, so far it has."

It was a relief to learn it was a false alarm, but I admit to being initially alarmed.  There's just no such thing as being too careful these days.

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.
