Re: Disney/Hogwarts-opinions/help please

@pegsue

I'm not a fan of Universal (done that once is enough) but my son, DIL and hubby love it & the Harry Potter section.

We went early November it was crowded but not like summer or spring break.  We waited only a little and lines moved fast.  (Same when we went to Disney same time).

I found a nice shady spot to enjoy a book while they did most of the park -- I will say I was shocked at the price of food for hamburgers, etc. & the price of single day admission.  We should have stayed over with a package there would have been cheaper😯.

When I go to the Florida Universal, I always stay at one of the three on site hotels that include the express pass free of charge, All three have a different theme, but I like the location of the Hard Rock Hotel the best. Pricey? Yes. Worth it?.again yes. We get to go on all the rides that have express pass with minimal wait time. It’s also just a short walk to the parks. Whatever you decide, make sure you try the frozen butter beer Yum!!

We used to take our kids to Disney in the Fall - was cooler and less crowded.

I like to stay on-site with Universal.  You can go back and forth to the park through the day and there are a lot of perks staying onsite.  It might be a little more expensive, but I think it's worth it.

We always stay at the Portofino.  The water taxi takes you right to the park.

Re: Disney/Hogwarts-opinions/help please

@Bri369   That's awesome, we did the same a couple years ago.  Portofino was great.  After my illness we took our adult kids back to Universal for a special trip (it had been been years) and we had so much fun.  They have both read the Harry Potter books and are big fans.  Harry Potter world is phenomonal!!  You feel like you are actually in the movie.  I wouldn't trade that trip for the world, we laughed so much and had a great time.  In my years of traveling to Disney and Universal, I'd say the fall is the absolute best time of year.  Most kids are in school so It is not as busy as Christmas and spring breaks.  The summer is brutal with the weather. October/November best time of year.  Also always get the Fastpass, it brings you right to the front of the line, worth it!
