For many years I've had have a hotmail email address that I use just for certain things, shopping mainly, Land's End, In the Swim, etc. Anyway I've always received a lot of junk mail that went into my junk mail folder but holy cow the past few weeks that folder has received a TON of junk mail with very se*&ally explicit subject lines. It comes from weird addresses, looks to me like foreign countries. I keep blocking the addresses but it keeps coming from others. I wish it would stop.

A couple of years ago it was tons of junk mail in Japanese or Korean or one of those foreign languages, that finally stopped, now this.

For a while I was getting similar nasty emails....they were always in my spam, thank goodness.  Lately, I have not gotten as many, still lots of spam, but not as icky as I had gotten in the past.

Some of the titles would curl your hair!

I'm getting those too.  I send it to spam and try to block them, but they still keep coming.  Somehow these people got our emails from something we looked at on our computers.  I don't think there is much we can do except delete them.

Don't open it! That's the way many bad viruses get into your computer.

This was the way so many dentist's offices got hit with a $5,000 randsome virus this last summer.  DH has had clients where they have almost had entire servers ruined.

Awhile ago I figured out the reason for all my junk mail......it was Pinterest. I go and search through Pinterest all the time. I mentioned to my daughter that I was getting so much junk mail. She said it was because of Pinterest. So I quit searching through Pinterest and no more junk mail.

I've had this problem for a while now. It started a couple of years ago when I took my car (a Lincoln) in for service at the dealer that did all my repair work. A particular service advisor, sleazy I must say, promised me a rebate on parts. Shortly after, the spam and junk mail spiked like I have never had. I suspect he stole my email address. Many are annoyingly sexually exlicit. I try and control them the best I can, but cannot stop them. I want to keep this email address I've had for 29 years. The dealer had my email on file with my address and phone number.

I started receiving these horrible emails a few months ago in huge numbers they come twice a day 8 or nine in a row. I think it has to do with the reversal of the internet law.  This went into effect a year ago.  The previous law  inacted about 8 years ago prohibited internet providers from selling email addresses.  Now they can sell them.  The reason is that it is not fair to stimy the business of those who want to market to us ditectly.  It was holding business back.

hogwash. i am so mad and there is no way for me to block these numbers on my computer.

Hhmm, that's interesting. I did peruse Pinterest several times a couple of months ago but not lately. But these are nasty, often have the 4 letter word in the subject line and often in regards to Russian ladies! I also get ones for male enhancement (my email addy clearly shows I'm female) but at least they aren't dirty....so far.

The only place I know of that had that particular e-mail listed for all the world to see was my high school alumni site (I graduated when dinosaurs still roamed the earth) but I had that removed about a year ago as I suspected a lot of junk mail was coming due to that. The foreign language ones went away so hopefully this too shall pass.
