According to Gabrielle, Bella is very happy in her new home. I'm an avid animal lover and have an amazing fur baby who I could never part with...however, there are extenuating circumstances sometimes unfortunately for some families(((
So it sounds like she was being protective of the dog. Good for her. I have seen people let their children abuse an animal and just laugh it off. While I don't agree with getting rid of a pet just because you have children, in this case she is protecting the dog and that I approve of.

I understand how this could happen. We now have Daisy, a Brussels Griffon, because she nipped my Granddaughter on the lip. Daisy looks like a stuffed animal and Granddaughter treated her like one. Some pets and small children just don't belong together. Luckily, DH and I took Daisy and now couldn't live without her. Granddaughter lives hundreds of miles away and we don't get to see her often enough but when we do,Daisy and she are kept apart.

On 10/20/2014 GoodStuff said:You're obligated to provide good care for a pet -- or to find a suitable home for it if it becomes impossible to keep it. There can be many reasons why it becomes impractical to keep a pet -- family members who develop pet allergies, a pet who doesn't get along with children, changes in your health that make it impossible for you to care for the animal, and more. No one should ever mistreat or neglect an animal -- but acquiring a pet is NOT the same as marriage, for pete's sake! You don't pledge "till death do us part", and sometimes real life issues make it impossible to keep an animal in your home. No reason the animal can't do well elsewhere; many do.
Good post!!
There are LOTS of reasons to find another home for a dog ...... children aren't born knowing how to care for animals, and shouldn't have pets before they can act properly around them! ![]()

Boy, aren't you judgmental about Gabrielle when she made a very intelligent decision concerning her children ?
I am so sick of pious people like the OP who believe animals take precedence over humans, especially little babies.
Sorry, but pets are not on equal footing as a human being, and I don't care what your argument is. Jesus never made HIs temple in a dog or cat.
I've never walked my child in your yard and let it poop in your grass or pee on your flowers and kill them either. Nor has any of my children awakened you at 4:00 in the morning barking and screaming when they went outside either.
They can't bite you and make you require rabies shots either. Nor dig under your fence and dig up all of the dirt and grass where you have seeded your lawn.
You need to climb down off of your high horse about Gabrielle. She didn't have to share her story, and she was very responsible in handling the situation. Loosing someone like you as a customer is absolutely no loss anyway.
Let your pet keep you company and bring you joy (and fleas) in your old age.

Don't judge. Sometimes pets are not good fits for families and vice versa. I think it was a good thing that she found it a new home, that means she cares about the dog you know? She seems like a very nice woman and sometimes two children and a dog is a lot to handle.

I completely agree. Her first obligation is to the safety of all - including the dog. Very small children and very small dogs do not usually do well together. However, many posters here never let FACTS come between themselves and their opinions.

There is a house full of animals. One animal has a baby and one of the other animals doesn't like the baby. What should the mother do?

Two things that just make me cringe are people who can't tell the difference between pets and human beings. And the other is people who think it is perfectly normal to allow pets to use their house a toilet and actually judge others who won't do the same as bad pet parents.

People have to understand that animals are living creatures that bond closely with the people they know and love. It is a responsibility both financially and emotionally. And some people should not have animals if they can not cope with the responsibility. Or can not afford to keep or care for a pet. It is very expensive also.
