I have a Discover card. It is not my primary card. They were not in business many moons ago. You may want to check Bank Rate.com for a CC. I would look for a Visa card. http://www.bankrate.com/credit-cards.aspx

We use Discover for everything we possibly can. We take our cash back rewards once a year so it it quite substantial "free" money.

There was a time it was not universally accepted, but in Europe, it's almost as popular as Visa. (my other credit card)

In the late 1980's, I had a Discover card. After I got married. I added my then husband to my account. When we decided to separate 10 years later, I wanted his name removed from the account. Discover refused, stating that HE had to agree to be taken off of MY card, despite the fact that I was the primary card holder & had been for several years before my marriage. I told them to cancel the account, effective immediately. I've been getting letters from them for years now asking me to come back to them. After that incident, I'm not interested.

At one time I was a loyal Am Ex users, but not any more. My loyalty is now with Discover.

I have a Discover card but stopped using it when Discover discontinued the ToGo option. It fit on with my keys so I always had it with me whether I had taken a handbag along with me or not. They had decided to go instead with a scannable sticker on one's cell phone. Great but not ever store has the capability to use that option. Since they won't accommodate me I won't use their card.

I have a Discover card and a Visa card, and use Discover 90% of the time. I had the Visa because years ago some vendors would not accept Discover. Actually, that occurs only rarely now. Like others have said I prefer Discover and their incentive program.

Last year someone from CA (we live in PA) purchased a large amount of items on my card. As soon as I discovered this we worked with their Fraud Dept. to have our account restored and they immediately cancelled that card and issued a new one, no questions asked. They could not have been more fair to me or more efficient.

I am a loyal Discover card carrying customer. I cannot tell you how many disputes they have settled in our favor. Most recently, they reversed a $400 charge, when really we were only disputing a portion of that bill.

The point is, they really do look out for their customers.
