@On It wrote:Here in Southern New Mexico the monsoon moisture is very shallow. Rain clouds form. We have a few drops, and the clouds disappear. We are way too dry for this time of year.
The temperatures are beginning to rise due to lack of our daily mountain showers. The clouds and rain usually come in around noon and drop temps for the remainder of the day. We have sparse development.
If you live in a monsoon area, are you having typical rainfall amounts?
@On It we have been inundated with rain the last few months here in Denver. We already have our normal level or more for the year.
Normally sprinklers on 3x a week, have barely used them this season.

The original forecast was temperatures in the 80s and rain for August.
I couldn't wait.
And now it's just a replay of July. Temps in the 90s all month and no moisture.
My plants are struggling. I'm going to have to increase the watering.
@just bee Our water bills are going to look like the national debt.

We've had quite a bit of rain since we have only had to water the lawn once? Rained again today. They show another 62% chance on Monday.

@Kachina624 I'm wondering what kind of WINTER we are gonna have. Flag had 154 FEET of snow last season (also a record). di

We were supposed to attend an outdoor wedding today. It began raining a little before noon and never stopped. Plan B was to move the ceremony indoors. It was fine but I know the bride and groom were disappointed. We didn't stay too long after dinner, but long enough to get a couple of dances in. DH and I won for being the longest married couple there.

I am staring at 103 degrees for today! Mornings here have been cooler. Like some of you, the rains have happened all around me, but never a direct hit! The 10 day for my area says all days are to be above 100 degees. I will say that I love the heat, sans the humidity of my former Minnesota life!
My beautiful cactus garden is starting to looked a bit stressed and I give my horse some special attention in the heat to keep him comfortable! Last rain was March 22nd!
