Disappointed, I hope QVC does something to correct this

I recently ordered an OTO Judith Ripka bracelet as soon as it showed as an OTO online, even before it was presented on air. I placed it on check hold and confirmed with Q customer service that the item was in stock. I was told that it was. Soon after the item aired and sold out. 

 

I subsequently called Q customer service and put the item on my credit card and was assured that it will arrive before Christmas. This morning the order status was showing " in process" but just now when I checked to see if it had shipped, it says the item is on " Backorder" . I am very disappointed and I usually am not one to complain but this is happening to me a second time around. I hope the Q social team reads this and hopefully someone will make this right. 

 

I also have two other orders that I was assured were holiday delivery but are still showing "in process. "  I hope others are having better luck .

When you put something on check status then change payment, you sort of lose your place in line for that item. You should have used your credit card from the start.

I ordered JR 's TSV  earrings on Dec. 10 still do not have them.  I checked to see if shipped .they shipped on Dec. 13 and are still en route.  I guess they are coming from China?  Enough is enough.......wanted to give them as a gift ....... who knows if they will make it......I give up on QVC. I hope that when they do come they are not damaged.

Call Customer Service!  They will send you out a new pair.  It's been long enough that they will do that.  Also, maybe they will pay the extra shipping to get them to you by Christmas!  Good luck!

I am not 100% sure of this because I have never purchased anything through check hold. I can just relay what I have read on the boards over the years. It seems that when you utilize a check that they fill the credit card orders first and then move to the check orders.

 

I would have used my CC especially for a JR item, since she seems to be a popular designer on the "Q".

Thank you Fortune.  i have been trying to call customer service for 2 days now.  I have been getting all operators are busy and held on as long as I could. I will try again early tomorrow morning.   Merry Christmas......

Hi muttmom,  I have been given to understand by Q customer service several times in the past that if I place an item on check status then the item is held for me for two weeks , in which time I must either pay by check or have the item billed to my credit card. Only if I fail to do that in the specified time will the item be released from the check status.  I have done this  in the past without issues.

I'm glad you started this thread, because having read it, I thought to go to my account to check on the status of a Susan Graver top I ordered to wear on Christmas with velvet slacks.

 

That order is GONE!

 

Disappointed doesn't even begin to explain what I'm feeling now, because I don't spend a lot on me - mostly my granddaughter - so was really looking forward to this top.

I've had it happen both ways with check status.   It saves the item (even if sold out) and I get it or it goes on backorder.    Sometimes, the backorder is filled, sometimes not.

 

I think it's hit and miss.  The only time I think you can be assured you have it is if you put it on hold and it was the last item available in that color or size.

Hi @anisha - Major bummer... I'm so sorry to hear about your disappointment.  I can imagine how frustrated you must be.  Only once did I put something on check hold and, like you, was assured my item was accounted for and would ship.  Of course, the item sold out, and by the time my check got to the Q, my item had found its way into someone else's hands.  I guess their inventory count it not a perfect science.  But yeah, like others have said, when there is a sell out, cc orders are going to trump check orders/holds.  So lesson learned... if we really want an item and it looks like it might go, put that puppy on the cc right off the bat!  Hope you receive your item soon!!
