Difference between "Backorder" item and "Waitlist" item?

Over the years I have had many items on waitlist. but this is the first time for a backorder item.

When I placed the order they had my size, now it says backorder and I can't make any changes to my order (can't even cancel the order) also, when I read the product description it says the item is no longer available.

I'm confused. Has this happened to any of your QVC orders?
