Re: Difference Between Cart and Wish List

Nothing goes in my cart until I'm ready to buy it.  As someone else said, I also put things in my wish list that I'm thinking about or researching/comparing.  There's also an App called Keepa that'll E-mail you whenever something in your wish list drops in price.

I never buy directly from my Wish List.  I always go to the product description page to see if there's a coupon. The only time that hasn't worked for me was during Prime Days when Amazon gave me a special price for the Fitbit in my Wish List.  If I went to the product page, the price changed, so I ordered that directly from my Wish List.

I also have a max amount I'll spend at Amazon monthly, so I tend to make a mass purchase right after my credit card closing date and probably won't purchase again until the next closing date.  Trying to keep my shopping within my Social Security funds.

Re: Difference Between Cart and Wish List

thanks all.

It sounds like I have all those options in the "cart".  Alexa will sometimes light up and when I ask what my notification is, she'll tell me that something in my cart or something I've purchased before is so much off what I paid for it before.  Or that "based on my purchase history, it might be time to reorder such in such".  This reminds me that I've got some pkgs on the picnic table.  One of the things I ordered was the electric foot file thingy that @SurferWife has, also two Diamond Dazzle Stiks and eyelashes.

I use “save for later” so I don’t have to go hunting for it again if I want to purchase at a later date.

This is exactly what I do.

This is what I do as well.  I check it daily and it will let me know of any price changes in anything that I have saved.

Re: Difference Between Cart and Wish List

@monicakm once an item's in your cart, is there an area to make notes on the item like there is in the wishlist?

Re: Difference Between Cart and Wish List

In general, when you put something in your cart, it goes out of inventory. The same as it would in a brick-and-mortar store if you take something off a shelf and put it in your cart. Most retailers will empty the cart automatically if you don't buy within a set time limit so the product is available for someone else. A wishlist lasts forever. I have things on my Amazon wishlist that go back ten-plus years. Only using the cart for things you intend to buy is best. Use the wishlist for everything else.

Re: Difference Between Cart and Wish List

I use Amazon's save for later, but maybe I should try a wish list.

Amazon deserves its success. I had to return an item, I didn't have to box it or label it, I just took it to FedEx. It cost me nothing and Amazon emailed me when it was received.
