I don't think it hurt me any. I never did get into high fashion or makeup as an adult. I obtained two college degrees, and worked in retail management for a couple of decades. I've raised an awesome son, and been active politically for decades as well. I think this study missed the mark.
Well, shame on you. You did not follow the rules of Barbie. LOL Actually, you did since she did everything, went everywhere, and achieved everything. You did better than Barbie and should be very proud of that fact.

No. I was married with a child when it first came out.
My daughter was not into playing with dolls. She collected Breyer (sp) horse figurines.

Isn't that the truth? I think there is a study out there to support or discourage just about anything and everything out there. For the record I did play with Barbies and I don't think they hurt me one little bit.

DGD #2 loved hers. DGD #1 didn't like them. She loved the Raggedy Ann doll I got her when she was little and was really the only doll she ever loved!

My thoughts exactly--what a stupid study. I enjoyed playing with Barbie, Ken and Skipper. My sister bought me really pretty Barbie & Ken outfits, and I would attempt to add to her wardrobe by getting some doll patterns and sewing outfits.

Yes, I had barbie, ken, skipper and my mom sewed and crochet beautiful clothes, that my sister ended up with and did not take good care of, grrrrrrr. Anyway I loved playing with my Barbie doll but I had a cousin that was not allowed to play the them because of their womanly figure.

I was a Barbie fanatic. I had two Barbies and a Malibu Francie, and Skipper. I had this huge carrying case to fit all of their clothes and accessories. A few times a week after school my friends and I would get together and play. It was so much fun.
