Did you have a high school graduation party?

My parents never threw a high school graduation party for me. In fact, they never made a big deal about it for any of kids. It was like they just expected that we'd all graduate and treated it like just another ordinary milestone. Of course, they attended the ceremonies, but I didn't get a party or gifts.

I asked my husband if he got a high school graduation party, and he said yes. I told him it was so strange for me to see all these huge parties being thrown for high school graduates. Maybe it is a regional thing?
