If I'm remembering it correctly my favorite was when Hillary Clinton did the White House Christmas during one of the Clinton years.   She had it looking just like a winter wonderland.

I like every year. I always think of the kids that are young and live at the White House. The memories!

I have to admit I'm a bit of a White House Christmas junkie. There have been several publications featuring the decorations throughout the years and I've managed to nab most of them.

I like all of them but based on the pictures in Cakers' post, Laura Bush's decor is my favorite.

Why must some posters be so snarky?

Because they can't help it, it's their personality???  You think??

@cherry Thanks for sharing. This information was very interesting. I sure wouldn't have the first idea if I were in charge of decorating the White House!

But you would have the help of interior designers and hundreds of helpers!

I can attest to that...as a building manager it was my responsibility to have a tree and other decorations put in the lobby and in one case poinsettias around the circle of the water fountain at the front of the building.  The designers and I would discuss the look and from that point on it was in their hands, it was always very beautiful.

I think I recall Laura Bush doing a theme about reading and books - that was one of my favorite years, but I'm a fan of MO and enjoyed her years in the White House most of all.

Thanks to all who posted pics and text!  What a treat!

I have enjoyed them all!  I have a big book about Christmas at the White House!  I have to go find that.  I loved when HGTV put cameras on the Bush's dog.  How cute was that?
