I'm "old." What year did department stores start taking Santa pics?

I know my younger brothers did, but I don't recall seeing any pics of either me or my sister.

Yes, indeed. It was a family tradition. My mom would dress us up and we'd go into Boston to Jordan Marsh and The Enchanted Village. Santa on his gold throne was always the highlight for young kids.

Yes, there is a picture either at my brothers home or perhaps I have it put up in my home of the two of us taken with Santa when we were kids.

I'm not sure but my pictures were taken in the early to mid 1950s. (Gee, does that sound old, or what?)

My "younger" brothers were born in the late 40s!

No, my girls didn't either.

No, but our dogs did! And my husband was Santa several times for a local rescue center that did Christmas photos for a fund raiser. I was his elf and provided assistance. Has a hysterical photo with a young Capucin monkey (not that we support owning exotic primates). Yes, reptiles and rodents were welcome too.

@SeaMaidenAh, yes, the Mamie Eisenower bangs. My mother had them for a while when I was very young. The look is preserved in some of my early family Kodak pics.
