Re: Did anyone watch 60 Minutes on using Polio to kill cancer?

Recently I was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. After quite a bit of testing, it was decided that I could not take the pills. The next best choice for my treatments was to do an infusion via IV.......do not have a port........Have had 2 treatments now, and have 2 more to go on this particular treatment. This is a very toxic infusion......and if this doesn't do the trick, there is the next choice which is less toxic. There has been a reduction in the size of the melanoma and for that I am glad....... Not having many side affects.......mostly get very tired very easily, and loss of appetite...... I get hungry, fix my food, and then can only eat a small amount and I am full. So, they have me eating about 5 smaller meals a day. Do not want me to lose weight right now. Also, they keep telling me to drink lots of clear fluids because they don't want me to get dehydrated. Since the end of last year I have lost about 25 lbs.

I did watch that show last night. It was very interesting. My oncologist told me that there are so many new things being done for different types of cancers, and melanoma is one. So, here's hoping and praying I will get in remission with mine.

I did not know about your medical condition.

I too hope before long you will be in remission.

I did watch 60 Minutes. The trials look promising.

I have a feeling that something natural will eventually and successfully be discovered and used. The best of luck to all researchers and patients.

Me too. Recently there was a news reporting of curing leukemia with a component of the HIV virus. It was on a news segment but I can't recall the station.

Yes, Love Roses. I'm just thinking that human beings have survived for thousands of years, mostly without the med technology we have now. So, just maybe we can find certain natural ingredients, along with modern medicine, to counteract various medical problems. Would be wonderful. Smile

Re: Did anyone watch 60 Minutes on using Polio to kill cancer?

Gosh I am so hopeful- they came up with a polio vaccine- small pox, measles even chickenpox - wishing a huge breakthrough for all cancer patients, as stated before I have lost so many to cancer- my mother was 44 when she lost her battle , my dad 56- 2 uncles and now my sister has had 60% of her right lung removed ( age 53 now) and goes in for another scan in April to make sure it is at bay. her son, my beloved nephew age 33 now just went through extreme aggressive chemo and stem cell to save his life . he has brain cancer and will be watched closely . We need a meaningful breakthrough I myself will pray this leads to cures

Oh brancare, the prayers go to ShowMe!

I do know I responded to you a while ago on Among Friends or the Health and Wellness about your dear nephew. How is he doing now? I didn't realize so many of your loved ones were affected. I think I just knew of your nephew (and I think his mother?).

Cancer is a terrible disease. There are treatments and then there are just plain miracles.

I was looking at ancestry.com and I couldn't believe how many people were diagnosed a hundred years ago. I saw random listings of death certificates and it was as common then as it is now, killed just like TB, pneumonia, diphtheria, etc.

I believe sugar is one of the causes of cancer. I truly do.

And for the first time in my life I gave it up (March 1st). I just let it scare the heck out of me. I had a sweet tooth, I'm not going to deny it.

A nurse in a research department had said something to me a few days before about why she gave it up. When she was telling me, I honestly had no plan or desire to give it up. But I woke up a few days later and said 'this is it!'. I don't need it!

Re: Did anyone watch 60 Minutes on using Polio to kill cancer?

I am sorry Showme of course I was quickly glancing through this and read wrong Bless you and make you come through this with flying colors. God does listen to us. That is what I believe . Lucky Charm my nephew is doing okay- still hasnt totally bounced back, has to have scans frequently- and he even has to have his baby shots all over again. His mom ( my sister) goes for a scan right after Easter. Yes I have been affected by this disease, my whole life- my mom found out about her cancer when I was 12 years old. She passed away 14 years later when it (came back) on her. My dad died 7 yrs after her. So I absolutely hate reading about people who have been diagnosed with this terrible disease, and I really do pray for them. We need to be hopeful that breakthroughs like this will lead to a cure once and for all Again I will continue to pray for you Showme
