Re: Did anyone go to see Godzilla yet?

Yes, we saw "Godzilla" last night. my DH & I both thumbs down on it.

!) Godzilla was only in the last half of the movie

2) There was NO sense of humor like the Godzilla with Matthew Broderick (my favorite).

3) It was all so serious!

4) Don't waste your money! {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Funny you should mention it! I haven't seen a movie in a theater in YEARS, but I'm so tired of missing events because nobody wants to go with me that I made up my mind to go catch a cheapo matinee this week and see Godzilla by myself. I'm even going to get myself a big greasy popcorn.

So there! {#emotions_dlg.lol}

You go girl!!!! If we lived closer I would be your Godzilla buddy, but I'm going solo tonight, and getting the big greasy popcorn! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

are you near California? I'll go with you! I have a free popcorn, large with butter card. You get free refills too!

Re: Did anyone go to see Godzilla yet?

The original 1954 Godzilla was very serious. Everything else that came after that was campy....the 1998 reboot was so horrible, it shouldn't even have been called Godzilla

this version got back to the original 1954 classic.

I had the same thought when I read your post! Have you considered moving to the high desert?

Funny you should ask that actually.... since my daddy died, and he was the reason I moved here, I know I will not stay here much longer, nothing here for me but memories. I used to live in Colorado, but I've always loved the warmer climates and desert. I have considered Arizona or New Mexico, and I have semi-family in San Diego so that would put me closer. Got any recommendations for me? Smile

Um, excuse me, but... have you discussed this with Mia yet?

I am not near Cali but I would come there for the free popcorn and to see this with you!!!!

I just got home from the best date I had in ages, and his name is Godzilla... yeah, he showed up a little late but it was so worth it!!!!! I won't give out spoilers but I paid $6 for the movie ticket and $5.75 for the small popcorn (when did popcorn get so expensive? but totally worth it) and the date was priceless. LOVED the movie!!!!! It is nothing like I expected it to be, which was great. I loved the old Godzilla movies as a kid, and once again he isn't the bad guy. Bryan Cranston is awesome, but as others said, he is not the whole movie. The actor that plays his grown son is a total hottie!!!!!! {#emotions_dlg.tt1} The graphics are amazing, it wasn't a full theatre tonight, but the crowd was all totally into it. We all sighed at the same time, laughed at the appropriate moments, but mostly we all were just silent and totally into it. At the end people cheered!!!! I have not been to a movie in years, so this was a fun date night with Godzilla, and he did not disappoint. Not sure when he will call me though, he seems rather busy. {#emotions_dlg.laugh} Go see it if you can!!!!

Re: Did anyone go to see Godzilla yet?

Would this be appropriate for kids under 10, or is it too scary and/or violent?
