Just call him Ye but the article said he's been using Ye on social media and in some of his work for years. Kim did not request that her maiden name be reinstated when they divorced so she and the kids will remain West.

Some are family names, regional, religious, historic, ethnic, traditional within different countries and on and on including flowers, states, cities, unisex ones. Or maybe parents just like the sound of a name.
Their children their choice and again, why would you criticize or care?
@mspatmac Those are good thoughts in theory, but IMO some people deliberately give children names to draw attention and comments or, if not intentionally, they should know the name will. Who is not going to comment on the name North West for example?

Well I come from a generation that named their kids weird names too.
Remember the 60's? Some of them changed their names, some picked a middle name and some just went with it.
Some of the names today are still weird.
It what's in a name? So I named my cat Katie. This is my daughter's name. She has spent several months with me here and there. She said make her name "Katie the cat".
While she was here Katie the cat died. She asked that I put on the urn where her ashes are the words "Katie the Cat"...and so I did.

Chicago beats Apple, Bluetooth or Ziggy any day of the week. Celebrities give their kids weird names. I believe Elon Musks daughter has a name that look like the name of Greek fraternity.

when you don't have to ask "is that a boy or a girl?" for starters. People can do what they want but sometimes being unique can be hard on the kids, down the road.
I got my name 62 years ago, by very traditional parents. My nickname (which almost everyone uses) can be either masculine or feminine. I don't find that to be a problem!
@september Very similar story as I, too, had very traditional parents who named me 61 years ago. I was named after a saint and the spelling of my name was Americanized. My nickname, which is mostly what everyone uses, can be for either sex.

This guy seems very unstable. Have seen him on video clips crying like a little girl and screaming like a maniac....in the same few minutes. He needs a keeper.

I worked next to someone years ago who casually mentioned she had legally changed her first and last name several times. She didn't elaborate, and I always wondered what she was hiding or running from.

I would love to be named Chicago. That would be an awesome name. All the Kardashian kids' names are pretty cool, actually.
@Porcelain You might want to look up the "translation" of Chicago
