I have never been a fan of his, however, he supports his children, and makes sure they have everything they need. Other than that I believe he has mental problems and if he hasn't reached out for help, I hope one day he realizes he needs it and reaches out.
I am not a psychiatrist or psychologist, however, his behavior and speech lead me to believe counseling would be helpful for him. I wish him lots of good luck in his endeavors.

Does the mean Kim is Mrs.Ye? Unsure of the status of the divorce so maybe she escaped in time. He's obviously having mid-life crisis issues.
@Kachina624 I appreciate the news since I don't keep up w/ too much celebritiy "doings". I do know he has mental issues and that's the main reson for the divorce. Maybe he feels using his given name would kill his career. This way, he has a fresh start? Doesn't affect my life one way or the other.

I'm thinking the K family can do very well financially without him. Maybe they should just stay clear. It's a shame he'd have to visit his children...definitely a very bad influence and I wouldn't trust him alone with them for 5 minutes.

None of us know the reason for his change in name , however there have been other celebrities who changed their names a few times such as Prince.

Kanye West has gone by Ye for years, but now he wants to make it official.
The eccentric rapper, 44, formally filed a petition to change his name from his moniker Kanye Omari West to just Ye, with no middle name or last name, according to Los Angeles Superior Court documents obtained by The Associated Press.
West cited "personal reasons" for the change. The docs were dated Aug. 11 but not sent into the court system until Tuesday. A judge must approve before the petition before it becomes official.
USA TODAY reached out to West's reps for further comment.
This is not the first time West has tried to drop his full name. In 2018, the rapper announced on twitter that he's no longer "the being formally known as Kanye West… I am YE."
Ye, an abbreviation of his first name, is West's longstanding nickname dating back to his 2012 hit single "Clique" featuring Jay-Z and Big Sean ("Yeah, I'm talking Ye"). Some may refer to Ye as an alter ego, but West explained on twitter in 2018: "Who or what is Kanye West with no ego? Just Ye."
The nickname also has a religious significance to him. West titled his eighth studio album "Ye," which was released in 2018.
"I believe 'ye' is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means 'you,'" West said during an interview with Big Boy in June 2018.
He continued: "So I'm you, I'm us, it's us. It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye – just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything. The album is more of a reflection of who we are."
West's Instagram and Twitter account currently show his name as Ye, although his official handle remains Kanyewest on both platforms.

I don't see how that is different than some of the other strange names I've seen. Many rappers have bizarre names, maybe legally changed, and no one seems to care. His children still have the same names, so I don't get the connection.
This doesn't affect me, so he can use whatever name he wants.

gweneth paltrow named hers Apple. I wouldn't blame the name all on him. The K-dashs have named their kids "different" names.

I worked with someone who changed their name mid-life. Doesn't mean all that much unless that change is accompanied by other changes.

The only problem (ever) that I have had with him was his treatment of Taylor that night on stage. The rest I either approved or just did not care about. Running for President was delusional but if he wanted to, I did not care. This name change is the same. Whatever. Except for the break up of his family I think he should feel the as the lucky one being away from the K. Family.
