Re: Did You Have Any Collections As A Child?

I tried to make a collection of fire flies. I had a few old ketchup bottles, all washed out and ready for the flies. So, I caught 3 and put each one in a ketchup bottle with a few drops of water and some leaves. I hoped they would shine their lights, so I was able to read after I went to bed in a dark room. Well  that did not happen and when I woke up in the morning all the fire flies were dead. I never tried collecting any thing alive after that.

Bells and anything ladybugs. Then I got tired of both and wanted to stop getting those things for birthday and Christmas presents.

Bobbsey Twin and Nancy Drew books when I was younger.   Probably about the 5th grade, I read my parents' Book of the Month Club selections.

I also collected Jill and Ginny dolls and all their clothes and stuff.  My parents gave me a huge 3-story doll house that was taller than I was.  I decorated it and made furniture, curtains, and rugs for it.  I'd save my allowance and take the bus downtown to the "Nifty Nut House" to buy more dolls and clothes for them.  Then, I turned 12 and totally lost interest in dolls.

Re: Did You Have Any Collections As A Child?

I had all of the Dr Seuss books at the time.  Mom enrolled me in a program that sent a new one every so often.  Back in the day, that was VERY exciting!

I still have the books to this day.

I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend, til death, your right to say it
