Re: Did You Have A Nice July 4th ?

Today I am using a rare day off to have my plumber install a new kitchen faucet..he was willing to come on a Saturday for me!!!! I figured since I had to remove everything from under the sink for my dishwasher install this week why put it all back when this needs to be done eventually, anyway????

Stilltamn8r -we must be near each other because we heard firecrackers until the early morning. My husband had to sleep on the couch in the family room to be near the dogs since it upset them so much.

But to the OP yes, we had a good 4th. Daughter was in a local parade and I always love a parade. Then had lunch at In-n-Out (can get more American that hamburgers and fries). Then enjoyed the afternoon. No fireworks allowed (but they still go off) in our area but saw some off in the distance. We'll be at Disneyland next week so we'll get a fireworks show in then.

Re: Did You Have A Nice July 4th ?

We had a quiet 4th till the neighbors shot illegal fireworks after 10. DH and I had our own private picnic earlier. I actually had a nicer day today. The grandkids were here and we went to the park, (something the older 2 don't want to do much anymore.) But today they were game. I took lots of pics of them on the playground equipment. They had fun and I had fun watching them have fun! lol.

Re: Did You Have A Nice July 4th ?

This was the first Fourth of July in a long time that the weather actually ruined our plans. We were invited to three different barbeques and ALL of them were cancelled. The weather was so strange on Long Island. It rained on and off all day, so people weren't sure what to do. We ended up staying home and getting stuff done around the house instead.

Not really. I woke up Friday morning with an attack of gout in my left big toe. It still hurts really bad. I take Allopurinol which is supposed to control the uric acid but sometimes I get an attack anyway. Not nice on the 4th. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Yikes, I know exactly how you feel. I get that sometimes. I can't take the allopurinol because it gives me a horrible rash. Take care..

It's been a quiet holiday weekend for us, as our son and his family are in Michigan at his in-law's family reunion.

We spent most of it in the city, coming home this AM.

No. My terrier was scared s*itless even with medication, we spent the last two days picking up junk out of our yard from everyone's else's "fun", and the fireworks are still going off here and there. I hope someday they will outlaw the sale of those things.
