When I was a senior in college, I called the Maritime college dormitory to talk to one of my friends and another guy answered. He talked to me for quite a while and then he went to get my friend. The Maritime college students went out to sea in the summer.
In the fall, he called me and asked me out. I went out on 1 date with him but it did not click.
Another time, get this, I called the Florida Insurance Commissioner to make a complaint and the guy on the phone was very flirtatious with me. He creeped me out. When I got home from work that night, he called me at home and wanted me to go out with him. He had got my phone number from the complaint. This time, I declined.

Because of our business we 'met' most of our customers over the phone, we handled the business travel for nearly every company in our city and the tri-county area, most of whom we never actually met in person, many of those folks ended up as friends. Over the years I became very adept at recognizing voices, something I still do-I often recognize a voice on a show before I recognize the face.

Yes a few times. One was an old college classmate I really liked in college. He had a GF. years later in our 30's he called the firm I worked at. My heart just flipped when he gave his name. We decided to meet for drinks, we both were single at the time. We dated off and on for over a year, then gradually drifted apart.

@grandme wrote:Yes Back in the day I answered the phone and the guy on the phone asked for Pam and I decided to play along as Pam. It turned out the Pam he was looking for was someone I was in high school with. I finally told him not Pam but he asked me out. So I went on blind date. I expected a dream boat because Pam was really cute. Sadly he was nice but no sparks and that was our only date. I don't know if he ever went out with Pam though. Lol
@grandme something similar happened to me years ago . A guy I went to high school with got the wrong number and we realized who he and I were and ended up dating for a couple months . Turned out I had no chemistry with him though.

I met my husband on the phone ! He worked on Wall Street , a broker . I worked at a branch office in my city . Long story short I had to call our main office with a question where he worked , we got talking , then each day we talked a bit , then he started calling me at home. We would talk for hours at a time about just everything . I arranged to go to NYC for a few days had a good childhood friend that lived there so I stayed with her and met up with him, and well the rest is history , we married a year later and still are happily married !!
