As I was saddened when his father died, so I am sad to hear that Dexter has passed. I admired and respected this family for their fight for civil rights, for fighting what is right and just. The siblings who are left will carry on the legacy of MLK. May they find peace of mind during this difficult time and may Dexter be at peace with God.

My heart goes out to his sister Bernice and brother Martin, losing a sibling is very hard, their sister Yolanda passed away a few years ago. My older sister died seven years ago on Valentine's day, that hit me like a brick when I got the call.

I read that Bernice said he had prostrate cancer for about three and a half years. I am glad that he and the family were able to go through this journey in private.
